The historic town of Krupka is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the cross-border mining region of the Ore Mountains. Cyclists can visit the well-preserved medieval Starý Martin adit, the ruins of Krupka Castle towering on a rocky promontory above the town, or the town’s historic district with the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The town is deeply rooted in the tradition of tin mining, traces of which are visible at every turn in the surrounding landscape. From the Bohosudov district, a famous aerial tramway leads toward the summit of Komáří vížka; in the past, it held the record as the longest single-section cable car in Central Europe, and it is currently being prepared for a complete modernization.
