From Teplice, the route sets off around the prominent hill topped by Doubravka Castle. The trail then takes you through the villages of Drahkov and Suché, where you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the České středohoří Mountains, led by the majestic Milešovka. From the hills, you’ll descend to the main attraction of the entire stage: Lake Milada. This massive recreational lake was created by flooding and completely reclaiming a brown coal mine. Here you’ll find crystal-clear water, pebble beaches, and several snack stands. From Lake Milada, the route continues through Trmice, where you can visit the beautiful Trmice Castle. From Trmice, the route climbs through Újezd and Hostovice along Soudný Hill directly to the Větruše country castle, which offers a spectacular view of the Elbe Valley. From Větruše, you’ll descend to the river and cross the Elbe via a footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists. Right on the right bank, the entire Pánevní Cycle Route officially ends and connects to the popular Elbe Cycle Route.
In Ústí nad Labem, we recommend ending your trip with a visit to the local zoo or heading up to Střekov Castle, which towers on a rock directly above the Elbe Cycle Route. If you want to explore the city without any hassle, you can use the Ústí nad Labem Bike Center, located right in the passageway of the main train station. It offers secure bike storage, bike washing and tire inflation services, basic repair tools, a shower, and informational materials. If you’d like to extend your trip, you can stay overnight in Ústí and continue cycling along the Elbe Cycle Route for the next few days. To return home, simply use the adjacent main train station. From there, regular direct trains run back to the starting point of the entire route at the Kadaň or Kadaň-Prunéřov train stations, where you and your bike will be comfortably checked in.
In terms of surface and safety, the route follows quiet local roads and secondary unpaved paths. Around Lake Milada, it also runs along separate bike paths free of motorized traffic. In the hilly section between Drahkov and the village of Suché, expect dirt roads that may be muddy after rain. Around Lake Milada itself, you’ll encounter either smooth asphalt or longer stretches of crushed stone and fine gravel. Be especially careful on the open plains around the water, where cyclists often face strong headwinds. At the end of the route, a more challenging climb awaits you from Trnice over Soudný Hill to Větruše.
