This cycling trip takes you across the landscape at the foot of the Ore Mountains, which is undergoing a fascinating transformation and where industrial history meets modern relaxation and sporting fun. The trip starts in Chomutov right by the famous Kamencové Lake, a world rarity with crystal-clear water free of algae.

From the lake you set off on the Pánevní cyklotrasa no. 66 through Otvice and Vrskmaň towards Strupčice. Right by Strupčice we strongly recommend a stop at the Maják lookout tower. It stands on a former mining spoil heap and offers a unique, direct view into the giant active Vršany open-cast mine. As you continue from the tower along route no. 66 towards Malé Březno, take care, as the road surface is poorer on this section between Strupčice and Malé Březno. Then, via Havraň, you reliably ride across the basin below the Ore Mountains to the edge of Most. Your first stop in the town is Lake Matylda, surrounded by a perfect flat asphalt inline track, ideal for skating or riding a scooter. From Matylda you move on to the vast Lake Most, created by flooding a former coal mine. A nine-kilometre asphalt loop with breathtaking views runs around the lake. Be sure to stop at its pebble beaches with refreshment stands and great swimming. Not far from the shore you can also admire the famous relocated Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. You return to Chomutov along connecting cycle route no. 3107, which leads you smoothly back along the northern side of the lakes to your starting point in Chomutov.
