This cycling trip takes you through the picturesque landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands, where ancient Czech history meets modern relaxation by the water and the elegance of a spa town. The trip starts in Ústí nad Labem, from where you first ride to Trmice on cycle route no. 66 and then continue from Trmice on cycle route no. 3071.

The route first takes you to Stadice, the cradle of Czech statehood. Here you pass the monument to Přemysl the Ploughman and the nearby Royal Spring, from which, according to legend, the founder of the Přemyslid dynasty himself once drank. You continue through Malhostice, where you can enjoy the view of the pretty Malhostice pond, and on through Rtyně nad Bílinou to Bystřany. Here you leave the signposted cycle route and follow local roads straight into the spa town of Teplice. The town will charm you with its extensive spa parks, historic architecture and thermal springs. You can also stop in the centre for something to eat and drink. Be sure to visit Zámecké náměstí (Castle Square) or the nearby Castle Garden.

From Teplice you set off on the return journey along the Pánevní cyklotrasa no. 66. First comes a climb along the Doubravka stream and up to Suché, but as a reward a beautiful panorama of the Central Bohemian Uplands opens up before you, crowned by Milešovka. After a few kilometres of descent you reach the recreational Lake Milada. Excellent signposted cycling loops run around the lake (the Tuchomyšl, Vyklice and Otovice loops). Along its shores you will find several beaches with fine pebbles, refreshment stands and the Wake sport park, where you can try wakeboarding or enjoy a meal and a drink at the local bistro. From the lake you return to Ústí nad Labem via Tovární Street, where a comfortable cycle lane is marked for your safety.
